• Tenders are invited for Technical Advisory Services on Implementation of Green Public Procurement in Poland The World Bank has been requested by the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of Poland to support implementation of the State Purchasing Strategy (SPS) and improve performance of the public procurement system in three thematic focus areas related to the SPS-s priorities: professionalization, green public procurement (GPP), and MSME. Component B of the Reimbursable Advisory Services (RAS) focuses on: (B) Prioritizing sustainable public procurement approaches, including green procurement, for use by contracting authorities to achieve value for money. This is in line with the EU Green Deal which sets out Europe-s new growth strategy towards a modern, resource efficient and competitive economy. It sets a pathway for Europe to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. Notably, the EU Green Deal stresses the predominant role that public procurement shall play in achieving the Union-s ambitious environmental goals. In line with the European Green Deal, the public procurement can contribute to achieving broader policy goals and promote the use of greener products, works and services.Under Component B, the international consultant will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of World Bank local and international experts, who will review the current status of implementation of green public procurement and develop a methodology for implementation of GPP in Poland in line with the recommendations of the European Commission and in line with global best practice. The consultant will lead the elaboration of the GPP Methodology along the six Pillars Framework in accordance with the global research work done by the World Bank summarized in the report on Green Public Procurement: An Overview of Green Reforms in Country Procurement Systems .
